Rose from denim(Master Class).

As often happens, a small accessory that seems insignificant at first glance suddenly sets the tone for the entire look. However, few fashionistas can boast of having hundreds of these in their wardrobe. bright details that suit absolutely any outfit. There is an exit. An original item You can easily and simply create it yourself. This will require very little free time and a minimum of materials, which are probably available in every household.

Today we propose to sew a rose from one of the most popular fabrics - denim. Any needlewoman can turn such a flower into an elegant hairpin, attach it to a hair hoop, use it instead of a brooch or as a decoration for a bag.

You will need:

Denim;
- scissors;
- thread and needle;
- ruler;
- compass;
- protractor;
- marker;
- cardboard for the template.

The first task is to make a template. It is a regular hexagon with a side of 12 cm. A similar hexagon is cut out inside it, but with a side of 6 cm. To facilitate the process, you can do this:

Using a compass, draw a circle with a radius of 12 cm;
- in the center draw another circle with a radius of 6 cm;
- mark the circles using a protractor, placing marks every 60 degrees;
- connect tags straight lines- you will get hexagons;
- cut out the inner figure.

Using the template, mark on the fabric and cut out two blanks - a large and a small hexagon.

Connect the blanks with their front parts facing each other. From the edge of the large figure, form one fold so that its length decreases and matches the length of the edge of the small figure. Sew 0.5 cm from the edge. Do the same with five of the six faces. Please note that the folds must be folded strictly in one direction.

When only one unstitched edge remains, turn the product inside out. Its shape will resemble a cone. Form a fold on the last edge and carefully stitch the outside with a blind stitch. Straighten the corners of the product well.

Lightly grasp the top of the cone with your fingers and, turning it in the opposite direction in relation to the folds, press the cone all the way down. Secure the center with a thread, connecting the lower and upper parts. The rose is ready.

Sew a loop, elastic, or glue a clip to secure the flower. You can also simply sew a ready-made accessory to some clothing or create another larger decoration based on it.

Today we will make flowers from jeans. Denim clothing has become a part of our lives. From everyday and everyday use, it began to be used as a festive one. It is decorated with appliqués, sequins, and rivets. Is it possible to do beautiful flowers from jeans and decorate your outfit with them.

Necessary materials

To do beautiful flower from jeans, we will need: pieces of denim, caps, rivets, scissors, PVA glue.

How to make flowers from denim with your own hands: master class

To make the flower more rigid and hold its shape well, treat pieces of denim with a starch solution or gelatin solution, dry and iron.

First, cut out ten petals from pieces of fabric. You can come up with any shape for the petals. The size of the petals should be different. Three stripes for stamens, leaves and stems. You can make a fringe on the edges of the leaves.

Give the petals a shape. To do this, use a hot knife to bend the petals from the wrong side from the edge to the base, and vice versa on the front side. The petals will be convex and curved at the edges.

We decorate the petals with rivets: one or two pieces per petal. We leave only one, from which we will make the middle of the flower. To do this, we twist the petal into a tube, and thread the tube into the piston. We cut off the bottom of the center, making it even, cut it along the edge and coat it with PVA glue.

Glue the center and five petals to the base.

We make stamens as follows. We fold the prepared strips for the stamens in half and thread them into small pistons. We also glue the stamens to the base of the flower.

We place the next row of petals so that they lie between the petals of the first row, and glue these petals.

You can make another flower and create a composition of two flowers, leaves and a stem.

You can also combine fabrics: for example, combine thick denim with light chiffon. These flowers turn out to be very elegant.

Decorative flowers made from jeans look good on the lapel of a jacket of any color. They can be used to decorate a vest and skirt. This flower can be used to decorate a belt, bracelet and hair. Yes, almost everywhere, such a flower made by yourself will look beautiful. It is only desirable that it be in harmony with the rest of the clothes.

A very interesting fabric aster:

Since time immemorial, women have been looking for ways to beautify their appearance. Over the centuries, shapes, colors, materials have changed, but one thing has remained unchanged: the presence in female image colors. Since fresh flowers are short-lived and cannot decorate a lady’s outfit or hairstyle for a long time, invariably fading, inventive craftswomen have come up with ways to recreate natural grace from scrap materials. Modern needlewomen, using the most affordable fabric - denim, have come up with simple ways to make a flower that can be used to decorate even evening dress. Refresh them appearance You can use simple decor - make beautiful and bright flowers with your own hands quickly and easily from denim.

Denim clothing today rightfully occupies one of the leading places in the wardrobe of every fashionista. And if not everyone has sundresses, overalls and dresses made of this fabric, then jeans and a denim jacket are sure to be found. You can refresh their appearance with the help of simple decor - flowers made from ordinary denim fabric, made by yourself. Let us consider step by step what stages this process consists of.

Making flowers from denim with your own hands

To create a denim masterpiece, you will need very few materials.

  • Denim;
  • Scissors;
  • Glue;
  • Accessories.

To create one, it is not necessary to buy denim fabric, because in the wardrobe there will always be old jeans that have served their purpose, but it is a pity to throw them away. Their time has come!

There are endless ways to turn old pants into a beautiful rose.

Cut a strip of jeans 5-8 cm wide and of any length (depending on the desired volume of the flower), fold it in half lengthwise and twist it in the shape of a rose. The base is sewn together with threads. The simplest flower is ready and looks as shown in the photo.

The creation process is no more complicated than for the previous decoration, but the result is a lush, airy flower. It is necessary to cut out 5-6 flowers of the same shape, but of different sizes. For example, 5 pointed flowers with five petals in size from largest to smallest. Stack them on top of each other and fasten them in the center with a button, decorative pebble or fittings. If you want to avoid unnecessary elements, then the flowers can be glued together.

Below are diagrams that, by printing them on cardboard, you can easily make such beauty.

You can draw the template yourself.

As the name suggests, this decoration will require a little more time and patience as each petal will require individual attention. To do this, it is not necessary to use diagrams or templates. You can draw petals on the fabric yourself different sizes, cut them out and sew them together. The step-by-step process is as follows:

  1. We draw 10-15 petals on denim, depending on the desired splendor of the flower. The petals should be of different sizes. 3-4 large, 4-5 medium, 3-4 smaller and a couple of small ones. To make the flower more vibrant and voluminous, the shape of the petal should resemble a drop: wider at the top, narrower at the bottom;
  2. Cut out the resulting petals. Moreover, the edges can either be folded and hemmed, or left unfinished, or gutted to form a fringe;
  3. Sew the flower, starting from the center. We take the smallest petal, twist it into a tube, sew the next largest petal to it at the base, then take a slightly larger petal and sew it to the resulting core. In this way, all the petals are sewn on until a flower of the desired volume and size is obtained;
  4. You can trim the edges of the flower with a hot knife, bending the petals outward to create the effect of a living rose. Decorate the resulting product with beads, rhinestones or accessories if desired.

The result may be a product like this.

In our MK we showed only the basic ways of making a flower from the most ordinary denim fabric quickly and easily with your own hands, by modifying which you can create your own unique works that no one else will have. Your imagination can suggest your own options for creating an accessory, and all of them will be correct, and the result will be original. Add mesh or chiffon fabric, beads, petals, chains with pendants - experiment. The most important thing is not to be afraid to create, because if you don’t like something in the end, you can always redo it.

For inspiration, here is a video selection of interesting master classes on creating interesting flowers. Happy creativity!

Having reviewed many master classes on fabric roses, it turned out that most of them require a lot of time. Therefore, let's consider a simpler and affordable way make beautiful flowers in a minimum of time. It only takes 1 minute to make one flower.

DIY roses made from fabric master class

To make roses we will need:

1. Remains of jeans;
2. Scissors;
3. Threads with a needle (to secure the finished rose);
4. Centimeter.

Cut each pant leg in half lengthwise into strips.

This is what it looks like already cut. From one half of the trouser leg you get 2 strips.

All the extra ones are fat side seams We cut off our strips so that they do not interfere with us in the future when twisting the rose.

This is how it should work out for us. The big plus is that there is no need to process the edges of the fabric.

The width and length of the stripes can be completely different. The longer the strip, the wider it can be. If the strip of matter is ukaya, then the length decreases. I got strips 44 cm long and 10 cm wide.

Now let's fold our strip in half lengthwise.

And we begin to form the bud. To do this, we bend the edge of our denim tape. We have a corner.

Now let's bend the sharp part of our little bag and make another turn of our bud.

This is what it should look like after turning. Our sharp corner has now flipped from the back to the front and comes up to the folded edge of the denim stripe.

We take and turn the fabric over, starting from the bud back. Now our top edge of the tape has become the bottom. We make one more turn of the bud.

When turning, the flower should again be close to the edge of the folded material. Now we are starting to get a small one.

We continue to alternate two movements:

1. Twist the free left part of the fabric back again.
2. Make a revolution of the bud.

Each time you turn the bud is close to the curved edge.

After making a few turns, a flower is already obtained.

We cut off the rest of the material.

Let's move on to processing the underside of the flower. We remove the edge of the cut fabric under the fold of the bud. Since the fabric is dense, it holds its shape quite well.

Now all that remains is to secure everything with thread. The main thing is to sew through the entire rose, capturing both the edges and the middle. By making several punctures you will stop deformation and unwinding.

This is how the rose turns out. Rolling a rose takes less than a minute. Then you can decorate clothes with them or make an original bouquet by first attaching a wire stem to the flower.

Flowers should be different for all occasions. Not everyone has a special tool for making flowers. Or maybe a person needs a very unpretentious decoration - so that he can walk in the rain and in the snow. Yes, such flowers will be significantly different from living ones, resembling them only in shape. However, they can also become a desired and favorite decoration.

Denim rose

Denim is a very interesting material that is easy to work with even without much experience. The main thing is to simply be able to thread a needle and make regular stitches.

  1. Rose pattern.

    For those who are not familiar with making flowers: you need to cut out the petals along the bias thread of the fabric. This means that we lay the pattern on the fabric at an angle of 45 degrees, and not along the edge of the fabric or across it. This is done to ensure that the petals are deformed as best as possible.
    Number of details:
    No. 1 - 3 pcs;
    No. 2 - 3-5 pieces (I have 3);
    No. 3 - 5 pcs;
    No. 4 - 1 pc.
    I'll tell you about the details for the leaves below. Don't cut them out yet.
  2. To create such a rose from fabric, you need to carefully prepare its middle, namely the central cone.

    Take the wire, it will simplify the assembly of the flower. For me it’s leton. If you don't want to complicate your life, take a well-bending insulated wire.
    We also need foil. As a rule, any housewife who periodically cooks has it - baking foil. It is very easy to form a cone from foil, as you see in the photo above. What size should it be? Our task will be to wrap petals No. 1 around this cone, which means it should be slightly smaller than the petals themselves (fit inside them and not stick out).
  3. After you have made the cone, pierce it with an awl or thick needle, stepping back about 5 mm from its base. Thread the wire into the resulting hole and secure it.

    This photo best shows what size the foil cone should be.
    To make the rose more voluminous, fluff out the edges of the jeans using an awl (the petal on the left is already processed, but the rest are not yet).
  4. We begin to form the middle of the rose. For this we need glue. I used glue that is heated in a special glue gun. You can use Titan, Moment, or any similar glue.

    Glue one petal to the center, leaving the left side of the part free. This is done so that under this un-glued edge we will bring the edge of the last petal and we will get something like a turbine in the middle of the flower, just like a real living rose.
    All petals, and we have three of them, should be symmetrically located around the central part of the future flower.
    Glue the second petal, it should tightly cover the cone.

    Then glue the remaining petal, bringing its left edge under the remaining free edge of the first petal. The center of the rose is ready.

  5. Process petals No. 2 along the edges with an awl. Take strong threads that match the color of the fabric and pull each petal from the bottom, 5-8 cm away from the bottom edge. The stitches should not be too small, and the thread should be folded in half, otherwise it will break when pulling the petal together.

    The resulting petals can be sewn into the base of the cone or, which is much faster, glued with a glue gun. Titan glue also dries quite quickly. Distribute the petals evenly in the corolla of the future rose.
  6. Form petals No. 3 in the same way. They should not be distributed too evenly. First, attach each petal, twist the assembly, try it on, and it will tell you where its place is.

    Glue or sew all the petals.
  7. Most roses, as you yourself have noticed, have the edges of the petals curled outward. This effect is easily achieved in classic flower making, where we treat the fabric with a special compound and use a heated tool.
    In our soft rose we can also get this effect.
    In the place where you want to twist the petal, apply a strip of glue along the petal from the inside (5-7 mm), twist the petal with a tube using your fingers onto the strip of glue.

    The red arrow shows how I twisted and glued the petal. You can sew it on, but it will take longer. It is not necessary to twist each petal in this way. Do this on just one side of a few petals - this technique will really liven up your denim rose.

  8. This is what your flower should look like.

  9. If you are very tired, then stop here and make a fastening. And with the rest of the craftsmen we will make two leaves for the rose. This, however, will take almost the same amount of time as making the whisk. But this is a common occurrence in flower making. Very often, additional elements of a composition require much more attention and time than its central part.

    The fifth and sixth parts are leaves for the rose. We will have them in two layers. Due to the fact that denim is quite heavy, it is necessary to strengthen the leaves with a wire frame. This is much easier to do than you think. As before, use either letons or insulated wire, because... Wire without insulation is difficult to glue.
    There is a very important point. Our leaves are not entirely symmetrical relative to their central axes. Therefore, when you cut them out, do not forget to turn the pattern over or make them symmetrical. Finish the edges of the parts with an awl. Glue the wire as shown in the photo: along the axis of the sheet and on both sides, following the contour of the edge. The wires should protrude beyond the lower limits of the leaves by approximately 5 mm for ease of further assembly. We will glue the wire to that part of the sheet that will be on the wrong side.
    But on the front part of the leaf, make neat stitches that emit veins. Here I'll tell you a secret. Take special threads for stitching jeans!!! They are thick and voluminous, these are the threads that make jeans jeans.
    For those familiar with embroidery, make a “back needle” stitch. I decided not to bother - I was too lazy.
    Glue the resulting front parts of the leaves onto the back parts (those reinforced with wire).
    Not long left! We almost won.
  10. All that remains is to make the fastening.
    Find the optimal place for the leaves, where they look best. Trim the excess length of the wires (you can leave 5 mm ends). Treat the bases of the leaves with glue and glue them to the bottom of the corolla.
    Cut out the gluing - this is part No. 4. Secure the base for the brooch under the gluing. It could be, like mine, two separate fastenings: a crocodile and a brooch pin.
