A couple of snowmen near the Christmas tree

The long-awaited holiday is approaching Christmas trees and bright lights, which means that the time has come to please yourself and the children with magical creativity. Nothing delights you more than a miracle created with your own hands. Moreover, if this miracle is made from old, unnecessary things with minimal time.

Material for making snowmen:

old white tights;
long white sock;
unnecessary socks (you can have holes in them, but always striped ones!);
padding polyester for filling;
a little rice cereal;
beads for eyes, nose and buttons;
scissors and thread with a needle;
a box in which the craft will “live”;
great mood and little helpers.

Stages of making crafts

1. We will cut off a suitable part from the tights without visible damage, holes, or abrasions.

2. On one side of the segment we will tie an ordinary sea knot.

3. Fill the resulting bag with padding polyester or other suitable material. At the very end, add a little rice cereal to stabilize the toy.

4. Sew the resulting snowman blank securely from the bottom. We set up the snowman and check how stable it is.

5. It’s time to put striped socks to work. Let's cut off part of the strips along with the elastic band and tie them on the cut side with a rope previously cut from the tights. The end result is a cute striped hat.

6. Cut out a striped scarf from the remains of the sock. It doesn't need to be overcast. Sticking threads will add a special mood.

7. By putting a hat on the snowman, we can clearly see where the neck should be. We tighten this place with a strip of tights.

8. We tie a scarf around the snowman’s neck.

9. Now you need to “revive” the craft. Sew beads for eyes and nose. Don't forget about buttons. If you are making a similar toy for a child under three years old, it is advisable not to sew on the beads. Eyes, nose and buttons can be embroidered with multi-colored threads.

10. Using the same principle, we assemble a baby snowman, only instead of tights it is better to take a long white sock.

On the eve of New Year's holidays create a charming snowman from scrap materials that, I’m sure, can be found in every home.

You can put such a cute snowman under the Christmas tree, decorate your Christmas table, or give it to your loved ones as a small present.

1. children's tights with lurex thread;
2. strong white threads;
3. sewing needle and bead embroidery needle;
4. fishing line;
5. decorative ribbon in olive shades 1 cm wide - about 1 meter;
6. 4 large white beads;
7. 2 half beads;
8. large round bead;
9. small red beads;
10. plastic snowflakes of different colors;
11. black, white and gray varnish;
12. a piece of red ribbon about 20 cm long;
13. white threads for knitting;
14. silver sparkles;
15. a small piece of curtains with embroidery;
16. cotton wool;
17. a piece of cardboard measuring 10x10 cm;
18. PVA glue and “Dragon” glue;
19. thin wire.

Work process

Step 1: make balls from tights and cotton wool

We take children's tights and cut off one side of them: you should get one long knee-high. We tie the end of the golf with threads.

We roll a ball out of cotton wool and insert it into the golf course. We tie a knot with threads, forming the first ball from golf and cotton wool. This will be the snowman's head.

Again, take a piece of cotton wool approximately 2 times larger than the previous one and roll it into a ball with your hands. We put the ball into the golf course. We tie the end of the golf course with threads. This will be the body of the snowman.

Take a large piece of cotton wool and roll it into a ball again. We make sure that this ball is the largest and, at the same time, fits harmoniously into the image of the snowman. Tie the end of the third ball with thread. This will be the bottom of the snowman.

Step 2: hem the snowman

Cut off the bottom of the golf course. We sew the top ball with the middle one using threads, forming a stable and symmetrical figure from the craft.

In the same way, using a needle and thread, we sew the middle ball with the bottom one. You should end up with such a cute figure.

Step 3: make handles

From thin wire we twist two identical pieces about 10 cm long. Of course, you can take thick wire, and then you don’t need to twist it, but just take 2 identical pieces of 10 cm each. But I only had thin wire, and I twisted it in several layers.

From the tights we cut two identical pieces of fabric along the length of the wire. Leave gaps in the fabric for hemming.

Fold the fabric in half with the wrong side up. Using a needle and thread, sew pieces of fabric. At the bottom we narrow the seam, making it rounded. Turn the fabric right side out.

Take two long pieces of cotton wool and wrap them around the wire. Then we dip our palms in PVA glue and again twist the wire and cotton wool in our palms. After this procedure, the cotton wool will stick better to the wire.

We insert the wire and cotton into the fabric blanks for the handles. Sew the handles to the snowman. Thanks to the wire, we can fold the arms of the snowman in a way that is convenient for us.

Step 4: Making the Snowman's Face

Sew two white half beads to the top ball of the snowman. In the middle we sew a large bead in the form of a nose. We use red beads to sew the snowman's mouth, forming a smile.

Paint the eyes and nose with black varnish. On the eyes we draw the iris with gray varnish, and on the nose we put a dot with white varnish, forming a highlight.

On the eyes we put black dots in the middle - the pupils, and add highlights with white varnish.

Step 5: sew a hat

Cut a piece of old curtains the width of the snowman's head. Sew decorative tape to the curtain.

We sew the fabric into a tube and cut off the excess. Sew the top of the fabric together to form a hat.

Take a white wool thread and twist it between two fingers. Tie a knot in the middle and cut the thread. We cut the twisted threads at the ends and form a pompom from the craft. Using scissors, we cut off any protruding or stray threads from the pompom.

Sew the pompom to the hat and put it on the snowman.

Step 6: make a vest and decorate the middle

Cut a piece of fabric with embroidery from old curtains. The dimensions of the fabric should correspond to the width and length of the middle part of the snowman. We cut holes in the fabric for the handles.

We sew decorative tape around the fabric around the perimeter. Then we sheathe decorative ribbon holes for handles.

Sew 4 large white beads in the center of the middle part of the snowman. We put the vest on the snowman. Using a needle and thread, sew the ends of the vest at the bottom in the middle.

Take a thin red ribbon and tie it around the snowman’s neck 2 times. We tie the ends of the ribbon in the form of a tie.

Step 7: Sew on the Legs

Cut two small identical pieces from a piece of tights. Fold them in half, wrong side up, and sew them together. We cut off the excess fabric.

Turn the stitched pieces right side up. We twist two pieces of cotton wool in our fingers and put them inside the sewn bags. Sew the legs to the snowman.

Step 8: making the bottom

From a piece of cardboard, cut a piece measuring 10x10 cm. Using a glass or a fishing line spool, draw a circle on the cardboard and cut it out.

We glue cotton wool onto it over the entire area of the circle. Leave the craft to dry for a while.

We cutely form a kind of “nest” for a snowman out of cotton wool. Glue the snowman to the cotton wool using Dragon glue.

Dip a thin brush into PVA glue. Then dip a brush with glue in silver glitter and cover all protruding parts of the cotton with glitter.

Glue plastic snowflakes of different colors along the bottom of the snowman.

Our snowman is ready!

Good luck everyone, be creative and be inspired. Happy holidays to you!

DIY New Year's interior decoration

Master class “Snowman from a stocking”

Author: Bulankina Tamara Aleksandrovna, teacher of the combined type MADOU kindergarten No. 27 Armavir.
Snowman
Come on, buddy, be brave, buddy.
Roll your snowball in the snow.
It will turn into a snowball
And the lump will become a snowman.
His smile is so bright!
Two eyes, a hat, a nose, a broom.
But the sun will be a little hot -
Alas! - and there is no snowman.

V. Egorov

Target: make a gift, interior decoration with your own hands.
The master class will be of interest to educators, parents and teachers, anyone who is interested in handicrafts.
I was inspired to make this craft by a picture among the New Year-themed illustrations. I decided to try to recreate what I saw, but it turned out to be a completely different snowman, but at least so dear (the stocking was mine, after all). The toy is very funny: it is quite mobile, depending on how you turn it, the mood of the snowman changes. The toy will definitely not leave children indifferent (checked), as a souvenir and for interior decoration for the New Year it will be very useful.
To work you will need: golf or a piece of white tights (the smaller the denier, the better), padding polyester or cotton wool, threads, a needle, scissors, viscose napkins or pieces of fabric that does not fray, ready-made eyes or beads, a glue gun and... a good mood.

1. Take white golf and fill it with padding polyester, not very tightly. You should get an oblong shape, tie a knot at the bottom. Cut off the elastic and cut it in half crosswise

2.We make handles. Turn out the elastic halves so that the seam is not visible, fill with padding polyester

3. Cut mittens from napkins or fabric, sew them with a decorative stitch and put them on the handles

4.Let's start with the legs. Cut out legs from thick cardboard (10 by 12 cm rectangle) and place the cardboard in a sewn fabric bag of the same shape and size.

On one side, which was left unsewn, we put in the filler - padding polyester and sew it up.

5. And now the most important thing - head. Form a head at the top of the golf course and tie it with a thread.

6. We cut a hat out of fabric according to the size of the head (from a rectangle 20 by 15 cm), sew it and decorate it along the edge with contrasting fabric and attach a bubo to the edge of the cap

Cut out the scarf

Attach the hat and scarf

7. Sew on the handles

sew a carrot nose from an orange napkin or fabric

8. Sew on the snowman’s legs

Glue on the eyes and embroider the mouth. The snowman is ready!

Let New Year will fulfill your most cherished desires!
